The Gift of Compliments
By Esther Cohen
I firmly believe in the gift of a genuine compliment.
Coming from South America, I grew up surrounded by an openness that includes people sharing what they think. Compliments are given lavishly.
True compliments are so easy to give.
1. Find something you really like about a person, from their hair style to their thought processes, behaviour and inner light
2. Share your thoughts with the person in an authentic way
3. Watch them begin to glow as they take in your words
Compliments can build a person by boosting their confidence, self-belief, and self-esteem. It is free and makes the giver and receiver feel good. Long after you have shared a passing compliment and probably forgotten all about it, the recipient will still be radiating and basking in the light of your words.
A compliment can lift someone’s day and bring much healing. Remember, only offer honest words and mean what you say!
