Embracing Your Story
By Esther Cohen
As we grow up, we create a mental image of what our future will look like. This gives us a sense of direction guiding us in our choices as we build towards our long-term goals.
How we conceive the times ahead is heavily influenced by many factors. Such elements may include our personality, likes and dislikes, experiences, subliminal and societal expectations, as well as the influences of people surrounding us, be it family, peers, or role models.
Sometimes our lives turn out to be very different than what we imagined. Major events may set life in another direction. Maybe the paths we have chosen along the way took us on a major d-tour leading us to a very different place. Maybe as we come closer to our goal, we realise our wishes or choices have changed and we want something else.
Our mindset will determine what we make of the circumstances given to us and how ready we are to live and learn to love and find joy in our present reality.
“Sometimes you have to let go of the picture you thought life would be like
and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living.”
Nothing that happens happens by chance. Perhaps Divine providence has put you exactly where you are meant to be!
Use the tools at your disposal and the opportunities life presents you with to keep recreating your dreams. Move out of your comfort zone to create the opportunities you seek.
As you travel the road to your dreams, remember to find joy in each stage of your journey and to live life each moment as if this is the story you have chosen for yourself.
